MMA has proven that no martial system has it all. We understand we need to cross-train to be successful in the cage.
Mixed Martial Arts for the REAL WORLD is no different!
In fact, REALITY-BASED MMA requires even more cross-training! To be complete in Reality-Based MMA, we need the same striking and grappling skills as a cage-fighter plus many other skills.
Our Method
We use many training methods to improve your skills and make the classes more exciting:
• Pad-work
• Sensitivity drills
• Single & double stick
• Knife work
• Staff
• Choking, locking, ground striking, ground submissions
• Trapping and Takedowns
How do I start training?
Just call in on the relevant night - but please arrive to train - we do not allow spectators as it can be off putting for those already training.
What are the fees?
You do NOT have to sign any contract. Classes are either £25.00 per month for 1 session per week or £35 per month for 2 sessions per week
Do I need special equipment?
No not at first, although eventually you will need to start buying your own personal training equipment. You will not be able to spar until you have acceptable sparring gear.
Do I have to grade?
No grading is up to you. You will be assessed regularly before moving onto the next part of the syllabus. There is no cost for grading.
How fit do I have to be, how much fitness training is there?
As with any martial art there is a degree of fitness training, but this is generally made to be fun and is adaptable to all levels, being 'fit' is not a pre-requisite for training with us. You will develop fitness through regular training.
Is training suitable for women?
Yes. Many martial arts schools are very male environments, but please do not be put off. We welcome and encourage female participation.
Do I have to spar?
No, sparring is an option. All sparring will be at the end of the class, you are free to join in or leave as you wish. You must have sparring equipment before you will be allowed to stay for the after class.
